Barcelona needed until the very last minute to snatch a home 2-1 win in the UEFA Champions League over Celtic.

Celtic came within a minute of a historic draw at Camp Nou.

The Scottish side opened the scoring after 18 minutes when Georgios Samaras scored through a header from Charlie Mulgrew’s free kick.

Barcelona hit back just before the break however, when Andres Iniesta struck inside the box on the 45th minute.

The home side had dominated possession in the first half, with 74% of the ball.

After the break, Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Foster kept the visitor in touch, denying a number of attempts in a brilliant performance.

Despite creating numerous chances, the likes of Barcelona's Lionel Messi and David Villa were unable to find the back of the net throughout the second half.

The win was sealed for the home team in stoppage time, when Jordi Alba tapped home an inviting cross from Adriano deep into time added on.
