Trio leads the way in Belgium

19 August 2012-PA Sport

Anderlecht, Club Brugge and Zulte-Waregem remain locked together on 10 points at the top of the Jupiler League after victories.

Champion Anderlecht overcame 10-man Mons 2-1 at home.

It led just before the break though Milan Jovanovic but Mons levelled in the 56th minute through Mustapha Jarju.

Just two minutes later, however, Jeremy Sapina was shown a second yellow card, and Anderlecht substitute Oleksandr Yakovenko got the winner 20 minutes from time.

Late goals gave Club Brugge a 3-1 win over Beerschot.

After Carlos Bacca's 19th-minute opener for the host, Stijn Wuytens levelled for Beerschot early in the second half.

But Jonathan Blondel restored Club Brugge's lead in the 75th minute and Thomas Meunier made sure in the final minute.

Second-half goals from substitutes Jens Naessens and Ivan Lendric gave Zulte-Waregem a 2-0 win over Kortrijk.

Lokeren sits three points back in fourth place after beating Mechelen 2-1.

Milos Maric and Hamdi Harbaoui scored in the 61st and 65th minutes to put it in control, and David Destorme's late strike was purely consolation for the visitor.

Gent got two goals in the last four minutes to win 2-0 away to Waasland-Beveren.

Hannes Vanderbruggen broke the deadlock in the 87th minute and Christian Bruls followed it up moments later.

Karel Geraerts got the winner as Leuven twice came from behind to beat Cercle Brugge 3-2 at home.

Oleg Iachtchouk put the visitor in front from the penalty spot in the 26th minute and although Evariste Ngolok cancelled that out it led again through Wilson Rudy on the hour mark.

Ebrahim Savaneh's penalty levelled it up before Geraerts' 81st-minute winner.

There were late goals for both sides as Lierse and Genk shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

Steven Monrose gave Genk an 81st-minute lead, but Jason Adesanya levelled it five minutes later.
