Playmaker... Vidosic's form will play a big role in Adelaide's success or failure (Getty)
Dario Vidosic was on target in Adelaide United's 3-1 pre-season trial win over a South Australia State Select Team at Burton Park on Wednesday night.
The only sour point for the fans on hand was the late withdrawal of Argentine signing Marcelo Carrusca with a slight calf problem, from what would have been his club debut.
Sergio van Dijk, Bruce Djite and Zenon Caravella also looked on from the stands although the Reds did field a strong line-up as they ramp up preparations for the AFC Champions League Quarter Final first leg meeting with Bunyodkor on 19 September.
After a scoreless first half, Vidosic scored the opener on 49 minutes with a clinical finish.
The lead lasted eight minutes, with Tom Dittmar getting the goal for the SA State Select Team.
Adelaide restored its lead on 85 minutes courtesy of an own goal before defender Antony Golec sealed the result in the dying stages from a corner..
