Australia star Luke Wilkshire has re-signed with Dynamo Moscow in a deal that will keep him at the Russian club until the end of the 2013/2014 season.

The versatile Socceroos defender has enjoyed a fruitful time at the club, which he joined in 2008 after his emergence at the 2006 World Cup under the tutelege of Guus Hiddink.

Wilkshire, who has played 93 matches for Dynamo which sits third in the Russian Premier League, expressed his joy at securing his future at the club.

“I’m delighted to be re-signing with Dynamo Moscow until the end of the 2014 season," Wilkshire said via his agency, Inspire Sports Management. "I’ve loved my time at the club here so far, and I’m excited to help the team challenge for the title over the next few months.

"Being at such an ambitious club will hopefully bring exciting opportunities to compete in European competitions, with the Champions League being a major ambition of mine.

“I’m now settled in Moscow. The club’s always been great to me, I love playing in front of the Dynamo fans, and I’m glad that I know I’ll be here for a few more years.”
