The Socceroos rising star played 30 minutes for the Eredivisie side on Sunday going down 1-0.
The friendly was broken up into two matches of 60 minutes due to sweltering heat in the Netherlands with Arzani only featuring in the first match.
The 21-year-old said the hit-out was a great chance to get his first taste of match action with his new club.
“It was just good to get the minutes in the legs. I think that’s the most important thing,” Arzani said.
Arzani joined Utrecht last week on a season-long loan from parent club Manchester City after an injury-riddled two-year stint at Celtic.
He will be desperate to earn his position in the starting line-up and return to the form which saw him named the A-League's young player of the year for the 2017/18 season.
The former Melbourne City star is not the first Australian to play for Utrecht, with Tommy Oar, Adam Sarota and Michael Zullo all joining the club in 2010.
The 2020-21 Eredivisie season kicks off on September 12 with Utrecht starting at home against AZ Alkmaar.
