Celtic were initially put on the back foot when they conceded the opening goal in the 12th minute- a low volley from Motherwell's Liam Donnelly sneaking in the bottom right corner.
An equaliser came swiftly after though, with Kristoffer Ajer netting in the 14th minute before Leigh Griffiths produced a low spearing free kick in the 41st minute to give Celtic a 2-1 lead at the half time break.
Celtic enjoyed a rampant second half to put the game out of reach, dominating Motherwell for the rest of the game.
James Forrest steered home from close range in the 66th minute to extend the lead, followed by goals from Odsonne Edouard in the 76th minute and Ryan Christie in the 86th minute to wrap up the scoring for Celtic.
Motherwell were able to grab a late consolation second goal as Donnelly netted for a brace in the first minute of stoppage time.
Celtic are now clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership ladder with two wins from two games and a goal tally of 12 with only 2 goals conceded.
