The former Liverpool striker created a series of Instagram posts two days ago urging followers to identify the three hooded men responsible for breaking into his Los Angeles home.
Sturridge, currently off contract following his UEFA Champions League triumph with Liverpool, even pleaded with fans for his Pomeranian's return; going so far as to offer £30,000 (A$54,000) as a reward.
Lucci's social media presence grew in the days since, before a series of tweets from an account called “KILLAFLAME" allowed Sturridge and his representatives to track the dog down.
"Thanks to everyone worldwide for the support," the 29-year-old said in a follow-up Instagram video.
"We're so grateful for you all without you this wouldn't have been possible!!"
