The serial code hopper is believed to have signed on to play for an amateur club side on the NSW Central Coast, following in the footsteps of fellow disgraced NRL star Ben Barba who joined an amateur football side in Mackay.

Hayne could play his first game for the East Gosford Rams Men's All Age division 8 team on Sunday when they take on Ourimbah.

The suburban grounds of the Central Coast are a long way from the sold out stadiums Hayne has become accustomed too during his storied career which has included stints in the top tiers of rugby league, American football, and rugby sevens.

Hayne, a fan of Premier League side and UEFA Champions League finalist Liverpool, pushed for a cameo during the match between Liverpool Legends and Australia Legends at ANZ Stadium in  January 2016.

Although denied his chance to play against some of his football idols such as Steven Gerrard,  Jamie Carragher and incoming Brisbane Roar coach Robbie Fowler, the multi-sport star performed the coin-toss and spent the match sitting in the coaches dugout next to Australia coach Graham Arnold.

A two-time Dally M medal winner as the NRL's best player, Hayne has fallen from grace in recent years as he battles two separate rape cases in Newcastle and in California.

Hayne has not featured in the NRL since last season and has been living on the Central Coast and training with local rugby league side Woy Woy.
