There’s been no approach for Rogic, insists agent

Coveted Socceroos midfielder Tom Rogic won’t let talk of a potential move to the Premier League sway his focus, with his UK-based agent insisting the Celtic midfielder is interested only in the Hoops’ pursuit of a triple treble.

Reports in Scotland claim Celtic have set a $28 million valuation on the gifted 26-year-old amid rumored interest from Leicester City and Southampton.

Any move for Rogic would likely create a new record for the highest transfer fee paid for an Australian.

The previous mark was set when Huddersfield Town paid Manchester City $17 million for Aaron Mooy two seasons ago.

However, Rogic’s representative Daniel Berman sought to rein in conjecture of a northern summer switch for Rogic, who still has over four years remaining on his current contract.

“I've had no contact from Southampton or Leicester,” Berman told The World Game.

“Tom is on a long contract, is winning trophies, respects and loves the institution that is Celtic Football Club. \

“For him, it's all about the treble treble.”

Rogic, who has always been open to one day testing himself in the Premier League, continues to flourish at Parkhead under interim coach Neil Lennon - the man who first brought him to Glasgow for less than $1 million from Central Coast Mariners back in 2013.

With the League Cup and Scottish Premiership title already under lock and key this season, the Bhoys face Hearts in the FA Cup final on May 26 (AEST) in pursuit of the final piece of the treble treble jigsaw.

Were that to be achieved - and a tempting offer to be tabled to Celtic by either the Saints or the Foxes - now led by former Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers - it would be a fitting way for Rogic to exit the club.

Celtic rejected a $9 million approach from Championship club Leeds United two seasons back, and are committed to maximising any potential profit on one of their key assets.

A decision on who will hold the coaching reins next season is yet to be made following the departure of Rodgers and the return of Lennon, though the latter is likely to get the nod - especially if history is created with the triple treble.

Rogic has three goals and five assists in 17 league appearances this season.
