According to a Sydney Morning Herald report, the Matildas will play a series of double-header friendly matches across three states in late February and early March.

The mini-tournament will be made up of six fixtures and will be similar to the United States hosted Tournament of Nations which the Matildas won in 2017.

The tournament will be made up of three double-headers starting with a clash between Argentina and Korea Republic and Australia against New Zealand at Jubilee Stadium in Sydney on February 28.

Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium and Melbourne's AAMI Park will host the other two match days on March 3 and March 6 respectively.

The fixtures will play a major role in The Matildas World Cup preparations as coach Stajcic finalizes his squad for the June tournament in France.

An official announcement is expected on Tuesday
