Ahead of joining the Australia squad this week, Mabil gave Socceroos coach Graham Arnold plenty to ponder with an inspired performance ahead of Saturday's clash against Korea Republic in Brisbane.

The 23-year-old opened the scoring for Midtylland after 21 minutes when he cleaned up a scuffed shot to tap in at the far post.

Midtjylland went into the break with a 2-0 lead after a goal to Paul Onuachu.

Mabil added to his tally early in the second stanza with a composed assist after 51 minutes.

The young forward took the ball down on his chest at pace before splitting the defence to tee-up a goal for Evander.

The former Adelaide United player snagged a brace 65 minutes in with a sublime finish from just inside the penalty area.

Running onto a well weighted ball in behind the opposition defence, Mabil took one touch in space before firing between the goalkeeper's legs and into the back of the net to make it 4-0.

Mabil helped wrap up the win for his side in the 71st minute as he set up Jakob Poulsen, who fired in from range.

Midtjylland go into the international window in top spot of the Danish Superliga with 10 wins from 16 games.

In Scotland, it was a frustrating night for Tom Rogic as Celtic was held to a dour scoreless draw by Livingston.

Rogic was given very little room to move by the Livingston defence, which employed a tough tackling approach to limit the mercurial midfielder's impact on the match.

It proved to be very effective strategy with Rogic and his Celitc teammates unable to find a break through.

Livingston clung on for a hard-earned point with the result ensuring Celtic remain in top spot in Scotland.

Danny Vukovic will be coming into Socceroos camp full of confidence as he kept a clean sheet for Genk in their 0-0 draw on the road against Royal Excel Mouscron.

Vukovic made a number of key saves in a strong showing between the sticks for Genk, who remain undefeated after 15 games and sit in top spot of the Belgian Pro League table.

Jimmy Jeggo played the full match for Austria Wien as they went down 2-0 against Red Bull Salzburg, while Ajdin Hrustic came off the bench for Gronigen as they won 2-0 against Heerenveen.
