Arzani opens Celtic account in win over Aberdeen

Daniel Arzani opened his Celtic account in fine fashion on Tuesday as the Hoops' reserve side cruised to a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen.

The 19-year-old placed a wonderfully struck free-kick past Tomas Cerney just after the half-hour mark, taking a telling step towards first-team promotion in the process.

Aberdeen did little to trouble the strong Celtic side and the Hoops soon capped off their comfortable performance with a second goal through Ewan Henderson.
Despite both Lewis Morgan and recent acquisition Armstrong Okoflex taking part in the match it was Arzani who stole the show in just his second hit-out since arriving on loan from Manchester City.

Having missed out on Brendan Rodgers' 43-man UEFA Europa League squad at the start of the month, the Iran-born Australian now hopes to make amends and earn his place in the revised roster, providing Celtic reach the round of 32.

And with performances such as these already turning heads within the club, it's clear the Socceroos starlet's progression remains high on the agenda.
