However, it was not good news for Jamie Maclaren and James Holland whose sides were both eliminated.

Danny Vukovic

The Socceroos back-up goalkeeper conceded just once over two legs as his Genk side progressed 4-1 on aggregate after a 2-1 victory away to Poland's Lech Poznan this morning.
Awer Mabil

The former Adelaide United winger played 73 minutes as his Danish side FC Midtjylland won 3-1 over TNS on the night and 5-1 on aggregate.
Apostolos Giannou

The fringe Socceroos striker played 81 minutes in a comprehensive 5-0 victory for his Cypriot side AEK Larnaca over Sturm Graz.

Giannou received a yellow card in the 41st minute when he bundled the ball into the net using his arm, however, it did appear he was pushed in the lead-up and lost his balance.

The 28-year-old went on to win a penalty in the 64th minute, that was converted by teammate Jorge.
Jamie Maclaren

The former Brisbane Roar striker played 76 minutes as his Hibernian side lost 3-0 to Norwegian side Molde.
It was Maclaren's second start this season for Hibs, after re-joining the Scottish Premiership club on loan.
James Holland

The 29-year-old from Newcastle played the full 90 minutes as he saw his Austrian side LASK Linz cruelly eliminated in the 90th minute against Turkish giants Besiktas.

Alvaro Negredo, who has recenlty been linked with an A-League, scored in the 90th minute to make it 2-2 on aggregate but put Besiktas ahead on away goals after the Turkish side won 1-0 at home in the first leg.

The former Manchester City had been booked just minutes before but decided to celebrate by taking his shirt off, resulting in a second yellow card.
Alex Gersbach

The former Sydney FC full-back watched from the bench as his Rosenborg side won 3-0 on the night and 5-0 on aggregate over Irish side Cork City.
