After an impressive debut victory over fourth-placed Kayserispor, Popovic came crashing down to earth with a 3-0 defeat to Osmanlispor in the Superr Lig last week.
But goals to Gabriel Torje, Ilhan Depe and Cristian Tanase ensured Karabukspor returned to the winner's circle, with Berat Gokce netting an 86th minute consolation goal for third-tier side Keciorengucu.
Though just three games into his tenure with the Turkish top-flight club, fans have given Popovic nothing but praise, as a banner reading "Popovic", alongside a picture of the 2014 Asian Champions League winner, hung from the railing of the upper-tier on the western end of the stadium. With the win, Karabukspor will head into their league clash against ninth-placed Sivasspor on Sunday (AEDT) full of confidence.
"(We have) a very important league match on Sunday here at home and we want to have that same spirit with the players that we had in the last home match, and also the same spirit with the fans," Popovic said.
Buyoed by a passionate home crowd, another win would see Karabukspor rise to as high as 10th on the Turkish Super Lig ladder.
