Aussies abroad: Rogic's Celtic snatch draw, Kerr breaks NWSL record

A solid performance from Socceroos midfielder Tom Rogic was not enough for Celtic to continue their winning ways as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at home against Hibernian.

A brace from Callum McGregor rescued a point and for the Hoops after they trailed 2-1 with only 15 minutes left on the clock.

Rogic was in fine form during a 90 minute performance for reigning Scottish Premiership champions and kept the visiting Hibs defence on the back foot with his dribbling and ball movement.

The 24-year-old was unlucky not to find the back of the net midway through the first half when his outside of the foot shot was denied by the Hibernian shot stopper.

Despite the draw, Celtic remain unbeaten so far this season and are clear leaders at the top of the Scottish Premiership ladder.
In the Championship, Rogic's Socceroos teammate Bailey Wright put in a full 90 minute shift for Bristol City as they came away with a 3-1 win against Ipswich town.

Jackson Irvine has yet to make his mark at new club Hull and was an unused substitute in their 6-1 demolition of Birmingham city.

In Germany, Robbie Kruse was unable to continue his fine form in front of goal despite playing the full 90 minutes in Bochum's 3-0 loss away to Holstein Keil.  Kruse has score three goals in five games for Bochum in 2. Bundesliga.

Brandon Borriello played 30 minutes after coming on as a second half substitute for Kaiserslauten in their 3-0 win against Greuther Furth.

Former A-League journeyman David Williams found the back of the net in Hungary for club side Szombathelyi Haladas as they held on for a 2-2 draw against Mezokovesd-Zsory.

Williams fired home after only five minutes to give his side an early lead but they were unable to hang on for the win.

Scott McDonald also found himself on the score sheet in Dundee United's 3-1 win against Dunfermline Athletic.

A 43rd minute finish from the former Celtic striker ensured his side went into the break 2-0 in front before they wrapped up the win in the second half.

In Austria, Jimmy Jeggo played the full 90 minutes for Sturm Graz as they secured a 3-0 win against St Polten.

Former Central Coast Mariners striker Travis Major continued his impressive form for Hong Kong Premier League side Pegasus scoring a 69th minute winner only moments after coming off the bench during the 1-0 victory against Eastern.

Milislav Popovic scored in the German Regionalliga as Eintracht Braunschweig II won 3-2 over Germania Egestorf.
In the later games played in the US National Women's Soccer League, a number of Aussies got on the scoresheet in winning performances.

Sam Kerr led a fightback for Sky Blue FC, scoring as the team recovered from a 0-2 deficit to the Boston Breakers to win 4-3. With the goal, Kerr overtook Kim Little's NWSL season goal-scoring record and now holds the feat alone with a total of 17 goals from 21appearances.

Hayley Raso continued her strong season for the Portland Thorns, netting in the west coast side's 3-1 win against Chicago Red Stars after capitalising on an appalling goalkeeper error.

Teammate Ashleigh Sykes followed that up with fine technique to add another goal for the Portland Thorns.

Alanna Kennedy was the hero for the Orlando Pride, scoring the winner in injury time from a free-kick to ensure her side finished the season in third.

Larissa Crummer capped off a superb matchday for the Australians in the NWSL by scoring a classy lob to help the Seattle Reign to a 3-2 win over Kansas City.
