As reported in the Adelaide Advertiser, McGree has undergone a medical and is beleived to have already signed with Brugge while Adelaide has reluctantly agreed to his transfer for an undisclosed fee.
The Reds have already sounded out replacements for Mcgree with the club chasing Stefan Mauk and Nathan Burns.
Adelaide United general manager Ante Kovacevic confirmed the club is in discussions with the agents of both 29-year-old Burns and 21-year-old Mauk but refused to comment on McGree's impending departure.
“We’re working to secure good Australian players and we have discussed the prospect of Stefan Mauk and Nathan Burns,’’ Kovacevic said.
“We’re also close to adding foreign players.”
A trio of visa players, including an attacking midfielder, centre back and winger, are in advanced talks with the club.
McGree is expected to arrive in Brugge soon with the club currently undertaking a training camp.
Reds chairman Greg Griffin was critical of Mcgree for undergoing a medical with Club Brugge without asking permission from Adelaide.
