But instead, Ronaldo was upstaged by rival Lionel Messi, who scored a last-minute winner, as Barca claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory.
According to reports in Portugal, a clearly aggrieved Ronaldo asked Rodriguez to cancel the planned party.
But the superstitious Portuguese superstar didn't stop there, and he's even gone as far as banning his partner from hosting any future parties at his house as he insists they are unlucky.
The couple have reportedly been dating for seven months after meeting at a Madrid Gucci store.
Rodriguez was dismissed in November from her role at Gucci due to the throngs of media she attracted because of her relationship with the football star and earlier this month was forced to quit her job as a sales assistant at Madrid's Prada store for similar reasons.
