Hoole on the outer after heated exchange

Andrew Hoole's Newcastle Jets career could be set for an acrimonious end after the off-contract winger was involved in a heated exchange with assistant coach Clayton Zane.

Hoole's resentment at being substituted in the 68th minute of Saturday's match against Western Sydney Wanderers caught the ire of Zane who was quick to let the player know he had stepped out of line.

It only got worse for the 23-year-old after the match with Jets coach Mark Jones also giving Hoole a spray.

"Andrew's got to do what he's told like every other f...king player on the team," a frustrated Jones said to Fox Sports after his side's 3-0 loss to the Wanderers.
It was another low point for the Jets who have not won a match since January and have conceded 15 goals in their last three games.

Jones told the Newcastle Herald he was in full support of Zane's verbal tirade at Hoole.

"Players do as they are told," Jones said.

"If they get substituted, he comes off and he's supposed to deal with that, and he didn't."

With only two games to go, the incident could spell Hoole's final appearance for his hometown club with Jones suggesting the exchange could impact the player's selection chances.

"Perhaps (it could impact Hoole's place in the team)... he won't get away with that," Jones said.

Hoole has made it clear he has his sights set on a move abroad for next season with Newcastle resigned to losing the talented Broadmeadow Magic junior at the end of the season.
The club was initially interested in extending Hoole's contract but complications around the inclusion of a buyout clause in his contract caused a breakdown in negotiations and ultimately the Jets' decision to end all contract talks.

Clubs in Denmark, Belgium and Norway have reportedly shown an interest in signing Hoole including Danish Superliga outfit AaB where former Jets coach Scott Miller is an assistant coach.
