The 33-year-old was arrested in Dagenham, east London, at around 11pm on Monday (Tuesday 10am AEDT)- two days after playing in City's 2-1 win over Burnley.

He was charged a few hours later in the early hours of Tuesday, November 29.
A Met Police spokesman confirmed: "Yaya Toure, 33, of Ashtree Close, Macclesfield, was on Tuesday November 29, charged with a driving offence, namely driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the legal limit.

"He will appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 13."

The Ivory Coast international has recently played his way into manager Pep Guardiola's plans after being frozen out of the side after the Spaniard took charge.
A Manchester City spokesman said the club would not comment on a "personal issue".

Toure came on as a substitute in the 76th minute of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at home to title rivals Chelsea.

In 2012 Toure claimed he is teetotal because of his religious beliefs.

When offered a Man of the Match bottle of champagne he said: “I don’t drink because I am a Muslim, so you keep it.”
