Queenslander Oar returned to his Suncorp Stadium roots in February after five seasons with Eredivisie outfit Utrecht followed by a brief stint at Ipswich Town
He turned down a move to the CSL nearly a year ago before agreeing to a return to Brisbane.
The 24 year-old made just six appearances for the Roar last season as he found his feet after a period of inactivity and has racked up seven so far this campaign for John Aloisi's team.
Though contracted until mid-2018, it’s understood there are stipulations in Oar's contract which would allow him to head offshore again should an opportunity arise prior to the expiration of his deal.
Oar had slipped off the Socceroos’ radar over the past 10 months but won a recall in the extended 30-strong squad for last month's World Cup qualifier against Thailand, before missing the final cut for the 2-2 draw in Bangkok.
Should he head to China for the 2017 season, he would join a cast of Australians which currently includes the likes of Socceroos Dario Vidosic (Liaoning Whowin), Matthew Spiranovic (Hangzhou Greentown), Trent Sainsbury (Jiangsu Suning), Ryan McGowan (Henan Jianye) and Apo Giannou (Guangzhou R&F).
Former Socceroos defender Michael Thwaite is also on the books of (Liaoning Whowin).
