Real Sociedad have offered a homeless man a job on their maintenance team after the 35-year-old slept outside the La Liga club's stadium for eight months.

Ruben Vitoriano and his dog Mundo have lived on the streets of San Sebastian for three years surviving off the kindness of strangers who gave him food and clothing.

After being camped in a doorway outside the Anoeta stadium for the last eight months, the man simply known as Ruben had a change of fortunes.
According to reports in Spain, the 35-year-old has been offered a job by the club - with an initial two-month contract set to be extended, if he impresses at the club.
"I was starting to believe there were no good people. After so many blows, you lose hope," said Ruben, who has now found temporary accommodation.

"(But) I thought they (Real Sociedad) were such good people."

After a strong start to the La Liga season, Sociedad currently sit in seventh place - ahead of a clash with Leganes on Saturday morning (AEST).
But the big test for Ruben will be the upcoming visits from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, both in November, so he will have to ensure the stadium is kept in tip top shape!
