Vidosic, who had a year left on his two-season Wanderland deal, jets to China on Wednesday to officially ink an 18-month deal worth in excess of $1 million as he joins compatriot and former national team defender Michael Thwaite in the CSL.
Fellow Australia international James Troisi is also on Liaoning's books, but has been unable to cement a first team spot at a club that has enjoyed a mini-revival of late, rising from second last to 11th on the ladder.
The arrival of Vidosic is expected to herald the departure of Troisi, who has made just three appearances so far this season for his latest club.
Vidosic, 29, who joined Wanderers after exiting Swiss club Scion, made 28 A-League appearances last season, including coming off the bench in the grand final loss to Adelaide United.
The deal was brokered by Sydney-based agent Ante Alilovic, the man responsible for taking Socceroos icon Tim Cahill to the CSL, initially at Shanghai Shenhua and now Hangzhou Greentown.
“Liaoning Whowin have been tracking Dario for a while now,” Alilovic said. “They wanted him before the start of the last A-League season after he had just signed Wanderers.
"But they could not come to terms back then. However, they have snapped him up now. And it’s a good opportunity for him.”
Vidosic joins an expanding Australian contingent in China which also includes Matthew Spiranovic (Hangzhou Greentown), Apostolos Giannou (Guangzhou R&F), Ryan McGowan (Henan Jianye), and Aleksandar Jovanovic (Tianjin Teda).
