The 23 year-old, who learned the ropes at Central Coast Mariners before making the quantum leap to Borussia Dortmund, has already attracted strong interest from one of the Danish Superliga’s bigger clubs, though a fee has yet to be agreed.
Amini was Randers’ Mr Versatile last season, operating on both wings and as a striker, before playing the final 10 games of the campaign in his preferred central midfield role.
But, after 36 appearances in all competitions and many rave reviews during the season, Amini is hungry to test himself at a higher profile team as he continues to strive to catch the eye of Australia coach Ange Postecoglou en route to the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
“The transfer window is open, and our sporting director and head coach Colin Todd have left, so everything at Randers is new now,” Amini said.
“There is some interest out there from clubs ... it (a move) should be happening but in football you never know the way things can go.
"Hopefully it’s just a matter of time and something good will come up and I can move on to take the next step in my career.
“I don’t have a European passport, so it’s hard to move around the Continent too much, so the chances are I will probably stay in Denmark.
"But it's a good league here and there are a lot of internationals playing in the competition."
Amini became frustrated at times being switched about from role to role last season, and for whomever he plays next season he is determined to cement a midfield spot.
“I want to go to a club where I play my position, and maybe somewhere I can establish that over a number of years," he said.
"I always got to try and look forward and I want to better myself. I was happy with the way I performed during the season and I want to keep improving and learning ... a new club would offer a new challenge for me.
"I did play last 10 games of the season (in which Randers finished sixth) in midfield, and was doing really well."
Amini has been close to a call up for recent Australia squads but the opening continues to elude him – for now.
“I watched the Socceroos play against Greece (the 1-0 win last week) and they played great in that game," Amini said.
"They have a good stock of midfielders, I am just working away and when the chance comes it comes and then hopefully I’ll take it with bath hands.”
