The Serie A side are hoping to move into Stadio della Roma in August 2018.
A statement on the Giallorossi's website read: "Stadio della Roma representatives today submitted technical documentation to the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) for a preliminary review.

"This represents the beginning of the final submission process that will see the comprehensive dossier of the Tor di Valle/Stadio della Roma project presented to Regione Lazio.

"As part of this submission, CONI will receive the project's detailed designs and narrative reports for the stadium, new training complex and Roma Village prepared by a group of national and international team of experts."

A representative of the project confirmed their backing of CONI's view to apply for Rome to be a candidate for the 2024 Olympics.

David Ginsberg said: "We also want to confirm our support to CONI for the Rome 2024 Olympic Games candidacy and we hope that Stadio della Roma will play a key role for this important event."

Roma currently ground-share with rivals Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
