In a short statement from the club, Bordeaux offered no explanation of what occurred behind closed doors after Bordeaux's 4-3 cup defeat.
"Following serious incidents in the dressing room after the Coupe de France match against Nantes, Jerome Prior and Lamine Sane have been suspended indefinitely," the club announced on their website.
"No further communication will be made on the subject and nobody will respond to any interview on this decision."
French football daily L'Equipe reported on its website that Senegal international Sane was wearing a bandage on one hand on Thursday morning.
Head coach Willy Sagnol gave a press conference ostensibly to preview this weekend's match against Guingamp, but the subject of the suspensions and what took place in the dressing room was unavoidable.
Sagnol said, according to L'Equipe: "What has happened doesn't reflect tensions in the dressing room.
"It's an isolated event, unique since my arrival."
Sagnol said he would have a strong say in any further punishment.
"This type of thing isn't so rare in a club," he added.
"The only thing that interests me is to remobilise everyone ahead of the match against Guingamp."
