Clut has only played 58 minutes under John Aloisi this season and it is believed three other A-League clubs have shown interest now that the transfer window is open.
The 20-year-old was blocked, however, from moving immediately to the embattled Newcastle Jets, who are looking to bolster their squad in order to snap a 10-game winless run, which stretches back to round four.
Clut has been at Brisbane for three years, but it is clear his future lies away from Roar.
"We're going to look at this very carefully," Clut's agent John Bozinovski told AAP.
"Brisbane was the right club when we first went there, because of what he could learn from the other players and Brisbane being a champion team.
"That, he's done. But we've got to think about Devante's career.
"The next stage of his apprenticeship is games, as many games as possible. We'll make that decision accordingly."
Roar were missing Olyroos James Donachie, Brandon Borello and Jamie Maclaren for the weekend visit to Wellington, but Clut still didn't make the bench. The game finished nil-all.
"We have to just go on what the coaches see at training and support it because they see him day in, day out," Bozinovski said.
"At the end of the day, different coaches have different things they look for a player to do. You've got to learn to adapt.
"It's a good learning curve for Devante or any other young player. He's just got to continue working hard."
