It seemed Sydney FC had just done enough to hold on for the point but a clumsy challenge by Jacques Faty presented Adelaide United with the perfect chance to make it two wins in two.
It was a tough start for the visitors after left-back Alex Gersbach was rightly sent-off for a shocking challenge on Jimmy Jeggo in the first half.

Adelaide would consider themselves unlucky not to have been leading at half time after Pablo Sanchez hit the crossbar and had a goal controversially ruled out for offside.
The Reds finally took the lead through Jeggo in the 62nd minute with an impressive strike, however one that did appear to take a deflection off Matthew Jurman.
Against the run of play Slovakian international Holosko surprised the Adelaide defence with a cleverly improvised finish to make it 1-1.
With the extra man Adelaide pressed for the winner and were given a lifeline through Carrusca's penalty to give Guillermo Amor his second win as a professional coach.
