The 37-year-old appeared at Guildford Crown Court facing four charges stemming from an incident on 13 September.
Wearing a navy suit, tie and white shirt, he denied charges of affray and possessing bladed articles, namely a meat cleaver and kitchen knife.
But the former Everton, Ipswich, Charlton and Birmingham striker entered a plea of guilty to one count of possessing a class A drug - cocaine.
Judge Roger Climie adjourned the case until 13 January.
Bent, from Esher, Surrey, was released on unconditional bail.
