The film festival is showcasing stories of joy, grief, passion and emotion from the world game, and football's global language is channeled throughout the month-long festival.
Riverside Theatres hosted four films last week, "Coach Zoran and His African Tigers", "Old Soccer, New Football", "Offside", and "Aussie Chuk-Gu Dream".
The latter, featuring young Korean/Australian footballers, Danny Choi and Sunny Chang and their journey to becoming the first Korean Socceroo, sold out more than two weeks before Sunday night's screening.
The Palace Cinema will host seven films from 22-25 October, before the festival heads to Brisbane's Palace Barracks (31 October - 1 November) and then finally the Kino Cinemas in Melbourne (6-7 November).
This is the inaugural Football Film Festival and many of the screenings including forums and Q&A sessions.
