New Zealand's winless streak continues with Myanmar draw

The All Whites drew 1-1 against Myanmar after a second half fightback by the hosts.

Shane Smeltz's 43rd minute penalty opened the scoring and from there, New Zealand would have hoped the win would be a formality.

But its lead was cancelled out by Thiha Zaw's strike in the 66th minute at the Thuwanna Stadium in Yangon, and Myanmar, FIFA ranking 162, hung on for a share of the spoils.

New Zealand's winless streak in international football now stretches back to September 2013.

The All Whites' coach Anthony Hudson says the side didn't play to the standards they aimed to set.

"I just felt we lacked throughout the game a little bit of urgency and we were a little bit one-paced," Hudson said.
