Troisi lands Al Ittihad deal

Australia forward James Troisi has signed a lucrative deal with Saudi Arabian giant Al Ittihad Jeddah after passing a medical in Dubai.

The 27 year-old - who was overlooked for the Socceroos' FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bangladesh on Thursday and Tajikistan next Tuesday, headed completed the formalities and ended his association with Serie A champion Juventus.

After successful loan spells with Melbourne Victory and Belgium outfit Zulte Waregem last season, Troisi courted offers from across the Middle East and Europe before settling on Al Ittihad.
Troisi, who scored Australia's winner in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup Final, joins the likes of countrymen Mark Milligan (Baniyas), Mark Bresciano (Al Gharafa) and Brett Homan (Emirates Club) in the Gulf region.
