The 20 year-old, who has represented Australia at Olyroos level, has only made 1 appearance for Adelaide but staying put was always his first choice.

"I love the club, I love the guys in the team and I love the coaches. They have all really helped me develop as a player," Hall said.

"It was the ideal situation to stay in Adelaide and to move up as the second keeper. Being next in line has given me more confidence, knowing that I’ll get more opportunities than what I was getting."

Hall credited the work of his goalkeeping coach Peter Blazincic and Adelaide captain Eugene Galekovic for his development so far.

"It’s probably the best training you get, certainly in Australia," he said.

"Eugene is the best keeper in the league and Blaza (Blazincic) is the best coach in the league. I’m always watching Euge and if I do something wrong he’ll let me know and tell me what I could do better. I really appreciate the environment that I’m in."

Adelaide United CEO, Michael Petrillo believes the club has done well to retain Hall for an extended period.

"John has shown tremendous improvement under the guidance of Blaza over the last few  years and we are more than comfortable having him as Eugene’s understudy," Petrillo said.

"His selection in the last Olyroo squad is testament to his development into a keeper who is now ready to step up to the next level as well."

Hall, a product of Cumberland United, was selected to be a part of the Adelaide Youth Team before signing his first professional contract with the Reds.
