Falcao set to join Chelsea: report

Radamel Falcao has agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of a move to English Premier League champion, according to reports in the UK.

The Mirror claims the Colombia frontman, who struggled to find his feet during a season-long loan spell at Manchester United, will join the Blues on a similar deal from his parent club, Monaco, if a financial package can be agreed between the two clubs.

While United knocked back the option of signing him permanently, the report suggests Falcao has agreed to take a huge cut on the giant $535,000 weekly wage he was paid at Old Trafford, just so he can remain in the Premier League.

A move to London is also something he is longing for.

Falcao could report to Chelsea straight after Colombia’s tilt at the Copa America, which started badly with a , with Falcao failing to impress along with his other highly-rated team-mates.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be excited about getting the best out of the striker, who moved to United at the beginning of last season.

It was his record-breaking form at Atletico Madrid that first caught the eyes of many clubs, with Monaco sealing a five-year deal to take him away from Spain at the end of the 2013 season.
