Argentina suffered its first defeat in 19 U-20 World Cup games as Ghana held on to secure a 3-2 win in wet Wellington.

Goals from Benjamin on 44 minutes and Samel Tetteh, in the 59th, put the African side in command, before Yaw Yeboah's penalty ten minutes later seemingly sealed the result.

However, the South American side hit back on 80 minutes through Giovanni Simeone and Emiliano Buendia in the 90th minute to set up a grandstand finish.

The result puts Ghana top of the section on four points along with Austria, with Argentina and Panama - trailing in their wake.

Panama took the lead in the group's earlier game but Austria struck twice to claim a 2-1 win.

Fidel Escobar's wonder-strike gave Panama a 38th minute advantage, the defender playing a one-two before firing an unstoppable drive from distance.

A minute into time added on at the end of the first half, Martin Rasner 's free-kick skimmed off the top of Panama captain Chin Hormechea's head and into the net for an own goal.

Valentin Grubeck put the European side ahead on 51 minutes when he got on the end of an in-swinging cross.

Panama ended the game with just nine players after Hormechea's second yellow card on 80 minutes and the 82nd minute red card of Luis Pereira for a diving handball.

USA dished out a lesson to New Zealand, cruising to a 4-0 win in Auckland.

Rubio Rubin got the opener after just six minutes and the final goal of the game on 83 minutes - with Emerson Hyndman on 33 minutes and Paul Arriola on 58 minutes adding a goal apiece for Tab Ramos's side.

The points took the Americans top of Group A on six points from two game with Ukraine on four and New Zealand on one.

After starting with a 0-0 draw against the Kiwis, things looked bleak for Ukraine as it went into the break once again goalless, against Myanmar.

But six second-half goals took care of any doubt for Ukraine.

Roman Yaremchuk opened the scoring six minutes after the break, and from then on Ukraine cruised with Viktor Kovalenko (two), Valerii Luchkevych, Eduard Sobol and Artem Bieseidin on target.

It could have been worse for Myanmar, which had Thiha Htet Aung sent off when 5-0 down for a handball, but Pavlo Polehenko missed the resulting penalty.

Myanmar started its campaign with a 2-1 defeat to USA, and remains without a point after two games.
