A class above any other striker on show, Spurs' star man gave the packed Sydney audience of 71,549 plenty to cheer about with an all-action display benifiting his status as one of English football's hottest prospects.

His winning goal came on the stroke of half-time with a typically adept finish on a night when Sydney FC was forced to play second fiddle to the illustrious Premier League visitor, which won the game with plenty left in the tank.
And the fans got their money's worth with the young England striker - with scored twice in midweek as Spurs beat a Malaysian XI 2-1 - playing 84 minutes of what proved a regulation victory over Graham Arnold's men.
Totenham began full of intent as it sought to out on a show, with Erik Lamela heading over from a whipped Andros Townsend cross as the London giant dominated early possession.

Then Kane - coming off the back of 31 goals in all competitions this season - fired off a snap shot which was well gathered by keeper Ivan Necevski, making his farewell appearance for the Sky Blues.

In the 21st minute an audacious 'rabona' effort from Lamela from the edge of the area flew just over with Necevski off his line.

Seven minutes later Christian Eriksen blazed over the bar when he should have at least hit theb target as Spurs continued to pen Sydney back.

Spurs had a lucky escape in the 33rdt minute when Alex Brosque latched on to Ryan Mason's misplaced pass, rounded keeper Hugo Lloris but, with the goal gaping, placed his shot straight at Jan Vertonghen, who cleared off the line.

Chris Naumoff then found space on the right but dragged his shot over the bar before Kane miscontrolled in front of goal after being teed up by Townsend as the game opened up.
But Kane made no mistake in the 43rd minute, taking a pass from Lamela in his stride before blasting a low drive past Necevski into the far corner of the net to open the scoring.

Arnold made a raft of changes at the break but too little effect as Tottenham kept a tight grip on the match, even though its coach Mauricio Pochettino also made multiple substitutions in the second half.
Kane came close to a second in the 69th minute as he worked an opening inside the area and sent in a low shot which beat Necevski but was cleared off the line by Sebastian Ryall.

Substitute George Blackwood came close to a late equaliser for Sydney with a header which flew just wide.
