Ben Khalfallah is the red-hot favourite to cap an extraordinary first season in the A-League with a Victory Medal, the club champion count, on Friday night.
On Monday, he was just one of the boys, celebrating a grand final success with the rest of the squad.
But he's already casting his mind forward to next March when Victory will enter the AFC Champions League.
The 32-year-old said that when he moved to Australia he was unsure whether Victory would be a challenger for the title.
A chat with coach Kevin Muscat during pre-season set him straight.
"When we started the season, I talked with Kevin and I asked him 'Do you think we can win?'," he said.
"He said 'Yeah I think we have a good team and I think we can win.'
"When we played the first game, I thought yes maybe we can win."
That match was a 4-1 destruction of last year's grand finalist Western Sydney Wanderers.
It set the tone for a season of dominance from Muscat's side.
After the grand final, Ben Khalfallah revealed that his ambitions for next season exceeded the A-League.
And it's the Wanderers, who were dispatched by Victory three times this season, that are the inspiration.
"We saw last year that Western Sydney can win," he said.
"When you start a competition, it doesn't matter whether it's the Asian Champions League, A-League, we want to win.
"I think it will be hard but with this squad, if we keep all the players in this squad, we can win the A-League and maybe the Champions League too."
Right now, the ambitious forward is living in the present.
"It's a long time since Victory won the A-League so we went to a nightclub and we celebrated together," he said.
"Now we have to enjoy and next year we can win again."
