Adelaide faces Roar in 2015 A-League Finals Series opener

The 2015 A-League finals series is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in the 10 year history of the competition with the possibility of a Melbourne derby during the series, but it starts on Friday night with Adelaide United taking on Brisbane Roar at Adelaide Oval.

The final round of the 2014-2015 season culminated in Melbourne Victory being awarded the Premiers' Plate for the third time in the competition’s history after it saw off a late challenge from Sydney FC which defeated Wellington Phoenix in the penultimate match of the season.

On Saturday night Adelaide United confirmed third place in the league with an emphatic 4-1 victory over fellow finalist Melbourne City, which finished in fifth spot.

Brisbane Roar started the final round off with a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets to claim sixth place, only a point adrift of Melbourne City.
Week One of the 2015 finals series will see Adelaide United host Brisbane Roar on Friday 1 May and Wellington Phoenix face Melbourne City FC on Sunday 3 May in the Elimination Finals.

A-League 2015 Elimination Finals (week one)

· Adelaide United v Brisbane Roar at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on Friday 1 May at 7:00pm local (7.30pm (AEST).

· Wellington Phoenix v Melbourne City FC at Westpac Stadium, Wellington on Sunday 3 May at 7.00pm local (5:00pm (AEST).

A-League 2015 Semi Finals (week two)

:: Sydney FC will face the highest placed winner from the Elimination Finals
:: Melbourne Victory will face the lowest placed winner from the  Elimination Finals
:: If Melbourne Victory plays Melbourne City, the match will be played at Etihad Stadium on Friday 8 May 2015. Kick-off 7.30pm (AEST)
:: If the Melbourne Victory plays Wellington Phoenix or Brisbane Roar, the match will be played at AAMI Park on Sunday 10 May. Kick-off is 5.00pm (AEST)
:: Sydney FC will play its match against Adelaide United, Wellington Phoenix or Melbourne City at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 9 May. Kick-off is 7.30pm (AEST)
