Sanchez joined the Reds in August 2014 from Spanish second tier side Club Deportivo Lugo and has scored seven goals in 23 A-League appearances - plus four FFA Cup games for the inaugural competition champion.

“I am so happy to re-sign and it was my objective since the first day that I wore the Reds shirt,” Sanchez said.

“I have played a good season and the club wanted to re-sign me. I have also been part of the good football that we are playing and I am happy for this.

“I have enjoyed everything about my first season here. We won the Westfield FFA Cup and we have stayed in the top half of the table the whole season.

“My teammates are amazing both professionally and personally and so is everyone in and around the club. This group is amazing and we are all friends. At the end, the group was the main reason for me to re-sign.

“The fans are amazing and have always supported the team this season.”

The new deal means the Reds have now re-signed key players Marcelo Carrusca, Sergio Cirio, Isaias and now Sanchez beyond the end of the current campaign.
Reds coach Josep Gombau was delighted to have retained Sanchez as his team gets set for the finals series.

"Pablo has had a very good season and we are happy to have him here with us for the next season,” Gombau said.

"He is a versatile player that can play in different positions and can score goals as well. He is also a very respected team mate and adds a lot of value to the playing group.

"So for all of these reasons we are very pleased that he has signed again.”

Adelaide faces Melbourne City on Saturday in its final A-League regular season match and can finish the season third or fourth.

However, it won't put any key players in jeopardy to achieve a higher spot by beating City with Gombau declaring on Friday:  "We have a home final for sure ... there is not a reason to put players at risk."

The Reds won't play Marcelo Carrusca, Isaias, Jimmy Jeggo and Awer Mabil against against City - in a fixture that is more than likely to be repeated in the opening week of the finals.

Carrusca and Mabil will miss the game despite recovering from respective groin injuries while Isaias and Jeggo have accumulated seven yellow cards this season - with another resulting in a ban for the elimination final.
