Filipe Luis keen to stay at Chelsea

Chelsea defender Filipe Luis does not want to leave the club this northern summer, despite struggling to earn a starting place under Jose Mourinho this season.

Filipe Luis joined the Blues for $30.83 million from Atletico Madrid last July but has found himself on the fringes in his first campaign, making just seven starts in the Premier League.

Mourinho appears to favour the right-footed Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back, but Filipe Luis insists he is happy at Stamford Bridge and wants to see out his three-year contract.

"I'm happy at Chelsea. I want to stay at the club until the end of my contract," the 29-year-old said.

"We have a chance to win the Premier League. Everyone wants to be there to try to help the team to win the league."

Chelsea is currently six points clear at the top of the table with one game in hand over second-placed Manchester City.

A home game against Stoke City this weekend, however, comes before a tough run that includes a derby visit to Queens Park Rangers and consecutive clashes against Manchester United and Arsenal.

"Is the title race over? No. It's really difficult. We have nine games - really difficult games," Filipe Luis said.

"The Premier League is never easy. We have to be better than ever because these games are coming up with a lot of pressure, but I think we're prepared to cope with the hard situation we have."

Filipe Luis added: "He (Mourinho) always says that to us - he has never said anything else.

"He always asked for everybody to be focused and concentrated in the games and to try to win every match we have."
