Juric in the right hands with Postecoglou and Popovic

A club-versus-country controversy hasn't clouded Tomi Juric's Australia focus, with the striker insisting he's fit and ready to give his all against FYR Macedonia.

The decision to select Juric for Australia's matches in Europe this week drew criticism from Tony Popovic, with the Western Sydney Wanderers coach concerned his star striker was made to travel despite nursing a groin problem.

Juric came off the bench late in Australia's 2-2 draw with Germany in Kaiserslautern and is expected to play a more prominent role in Tuesday's (AEDT) clash with FYR Macedonia in Skopje.

The 23-year-old on Friday took a diplomatic stance on the controversy surrounding his selection, backing both Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou and Popovic.

"I'm kind of of stuck in the middle I guess but that's where I trust him (Popovic) and Ange to make sure I'm in the right hands and making the right choices," Juric told AAP.

"Obviously I was called in and that's what the situation was and basically I do as I'm told to make sure I don't step on any toes."

"They made the decision and that's the orders I follow."

Juric said he was now playing without pain and his cameo against the Germans had provided a confidence boost heading into Tuesday's match.

"It's been a bit rough the last couple of weeks but it was good to get some game time and just get a feel for my body," said Juric, who last played for the Wanderers in the 3-2 win over Melbourne City on 11 March.

"If I start (against Macedonia) or come off from the bench, whatever it is, I'll be ready to take it with open arms because I've been on top of everything and making sure my body's right for this game."

Juric is looking to build on a strong Asian Cup campaign, in which he set up the winning goal in the Australia's extra-time win over Korea Republic in the final.

However he admitted his injury, and the equal last-placed Wanderers' form struggles, had made it tough to build momentum.

"It's really, really hard on to explain," he said of the Asian club champion's form slump.

"You can't really put it down to one thing and I guess it's all just caught up to us.

"For me personally, it's been tough and the situation hasn't helped but I'm in (Socceroos) camp now and the atmosphere's great and I'm really enjoying it."

Juric is one of seven A-League players in the Socceroos squad, with the contingent missing a crucial round of the domestic competition this weekend.

However midfielder Mark Milligan won't play any part against FYR Macedonia, with the Melbourne Victory star leaving camp in Mainz on Friday to return to Australia after a minor knock against Germany.
