Perth Glory's odd couple kiss and make up

Perth Glory duo Danny Vukovic and Scott Jamieson are the perfect example of a football marriage - and the threat of divorce is never far away.

The Hyundai  is LIVE on Fridays 7.30pm (AEDT) on SBS ONE, SBS HD and online.

The odd couple have formed a strong bond in recent years.

Vukovic's unrelenting competitiveness and Jamieson's uplifting humour are the yin and yang that helps drive Perth Glory.

But occasionally when the two worlds collide, conflict ensues.

"Two weeks ago we had a bit of a bust-up at half-time," Jamieson said with a smile.

"I didn't line up the wall properly, and I was talking to the referee - shock.

"(Vukovic) went mental. He said a fair few words, and at half-time we went at it a little bit.

"No fisticuffs, but it was close.

"We're like a married couple - we'll have a fight, and then we won't talk to each other for a day or two, and then we'll come together."

The pair will be back in action on Saturday night when Perth Glory hosts Western Sydney Wanderers at nib Stadium.
The match will mark Jamieson's 150-game milestone, and the 26-year-old defender has plenty of incentive to double that tally.

"If you play 250 or 300 games, they might give you a job after football. That's what I want. That's all I think about," Jamieson joked.

Glory has slipped to fourth spot on the table after a nine-match winless run.

Jamieson said the team was desperate to halt that rot.

"We know this is crunch time now. No more excuses," Jamieson said.

"You can't keep on saying we're doing well. It's crap. We need to win. I don't care if we play bad - I want to win."

Vukovic missed last week's 1-1 draw with Central Coast Mariners because of a hip injury, but the goalkeeper has already declared himself fit this week.

"He's one of the best goalkeepers in the league," Jamieson said.

"I'd rather have him shouting at me than sitting on the sidelines."
