Club Brugge and Anderlecht both pick up wins

The Belgian Pro League's leading pair, Club Brugge and Anderlecht, both won while Gent did likewise to move third.

Second-placed Anderlecht's 2-0 win over surprise package Kortrijk was perhaps the most impressive of the three as it was achieved despite the dismissal of Jorge Rolando only six minutes in.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored five minutes before half-time and after Kortrijk was also reduced to 10 men, Adam Marusic sent off with 10 minutes left, Leander Dendoncker scored the second.

The win saw Anderlecht join Club Brugge in making mathematically certain of their place in the championship play-off, the leader beating Mouscron-Peruwelz 3-0.

Substitute Jose Izquierdo and Tom de Sutter scored in quick succession at the start of the second half and Timmy Simons added a late penalty, with Australia goalkeeper Mat Ryan playing a full game and keeping a clean sheet for the winning side.

Moses Simon's late goal earned Gent a 1-0 win at Waasland-Beveren, moving it within a point of security in the top band and condemning its opponent to the relegation play-off.
