UAE coach backs local support to steer Socceroos to victory

United Arab Emirates coach Mahdi Ali thinks crowd support will get Australia over the line in a tight contest with Korea Republic in the AFC Asian Cup final in Sydney on Saturday night.

"It's very hard to predict who will win and it will be a very tough game," Ali said.

"Maybe Australia will not let it go because they will have 80,000 fans cheering them on.

"The team who is more concentrated and more focused and has more will to win will be champions."

The performances of UAE set tongues wagging through the tournament and despite a 2-0 semi-final loss to the Socceroos, Ali feels his side has joined Asian football's big four of Japan, Australia, Korea Republic and Iran.

"We have to be optimistic and always we have to think about improving the team," Ali said.

"We want to be one of the top four teams in Asia."
