Yojiro to bolster Wanderers A-League squad

Western Sydney Wanderers announced it has promoted Japan international Yojiro Takahagi into its A-League squad for the rest of the 2014-2015 season.

The attacking midfielder was , for the group stage and potential round of 16 matches.

With Vitor Saba's departure from the club, the 28 year-old with more than 250 appearances for J.League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima, including winning back-to-back J-League titles in 2012 and 2013, is set to add creativity to the A-League club's midfield.
Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said Yojiro is the type of player fans will enjoy watching.

"We are very pleased we have been able to include Yojiro into the squad for the rest of the Hyundai A-League season," said Tsatsimas.

"Yojiro is a very experienced and talented attacking player who plays an exciting brand of football fans will love.

"With caps for Japan, plenty of ACL experience and at 28 years old we have a player that is hungry for more success, something as a Club we are all striving for."

Starting his youth career at Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Yojiro joined the senior ranks and, aside from a one season loan to then J.2 side Enhime FC in 2006, was a consistent first team player who made over 250 appearances for the club.
