The 29-year-old Argentine midfielder signed officially with the North American Soccer League club this week, and his new club's general manager, Dario Sala, took the long flight to Australia to welcome Flores into the fold.

Flores leaves the A-League having played for four of its current 10 clubs; Adelaide United, Melbourne Victory, Central Coast Mariners and most recently Newcastle Jets.

SBS’s Lucy Zelic spoke exclusively to Flores in Newcastle to discuss his move away from Australia and the many memories he has from his years in the country.

The full wide-ranging interview will be up on The World Game website tomorrow. Lucy also spoke to Sala about the importance of signing Flores, and what he’ll bring to the league in the US.
While his time at the Jets was short, Flores did win another legion of fans in the community with his passion for the game and the fans that come to see him play.

“I will leave Newcastle Jets with great respect. I want to thank every member and supporter at the Newcastle Jets that showed faith in me and this is something I will always have in my heart,” Flores said.
