The independent Match Review Panel – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Con Diomis convened to consider the incident that saw Ansell dismissed in the 42nd minute of Victory's 4-0 derby defeat.

They confirmed Ansell will serve the minimum sanction of a one match ban, being the mandatory match suspension.

It means Kevin Muscat will be without the 20-year-old defender for Friday night's match against Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park.
