Football presenter and journalist Lucy Zelic is the new face of football on SBS, joining the network as a member of SBS’s Hyundai A-League on-air team.

Lucy will form a key part of SBS’s A-League coverage, co-hosting the live Friday night match alongside David Zdrilic and Craig Foster as well as SBS’s live Thursday night entertainment show.

A life-long sports buff, Lucy is already well known among football fans as the host of the Official Hyundai A-League Podcast and is a seasoned radio presenter, appearing on the popular Balls n’ All football show on 106.3FM and commentating games for Canberra United in the Westfield W-League.

Lucy is also a former Miss Universe Australia finalist and hails from a sports-loving family along with her brother, Socceroos star and SBS Football Analyst Ned Zelic.

'Lucy is a rare find, combining a natural talent for media with a real passion and knowledge of football having grown up with the game," SBS Head of Sport Ken Shipp said.

"She is a true fan of the Hyundai A-League and can hold her own when it comes to understanding and analysing football. Lucy has a fun, vibrant on-air presence, which I know our viewers will love."

Zelic spoke of her pleasure at joining the SBS team.

'To be joining SBS where I get to talk football every day is my absolute dream role," she said.

"SBS’s football credentials are unrivalled and it is a privilege to be working alongside some of the best and most respected football minds in the country.

"Having the Hyundai A-League on free-to-air TV is huge and I am counting down the days until the season begins."

SBS’s LIVE coverage of the A-League begins on Friday 11 October when Sydney FC hosts Newcastle Jets from 7pm AEST on SBS 2 and streamed LIVE online.
