Freiburg moved a step closer to European qualification as it beat Augsburg 2-0 while Hamburg could only manage a draw against Wolfsburg.

Jonathan Schmid's goals were enough to get Freiburg back to winning ways after two defeats as it consolidated its sixth position, which would secure it a UEFA Europa League berth.

Augsburg remains in the bottom three with two games remaining.

Hamburg fell three points behind Freiburg in the race for the top six as it was held to a 1-1 draw against Wolfsburg.

Heiko Westermann scored the opening goal for Hamburg on the stroke of half-time before
Makoto Hasebe levelled for the visitor in the 65th minute.
