Hulk's 14th-minute penalty was the only goal scored across all three of the day's top-flight fixtures as Zenit moved onto 47 points, eight shy of leader CSKA Moscow.

The win saw Zenit pull four points clear of third-placed Anzhi Makhachkala, which was held to a goalless draw by Alania Vladikavkaz, while fourth-placed
Rubin Kazan
also lost ground as it was held 0-0 at Kuban Krasnodar.
