Brett Emerton has been cleared of a torn hamstring but was ruled out of the Jets match with back tightness.

Attacker Yairo Yau is in Panama on international duty, while defenders Fabio and Tiago Calvano will serving a one-match suspension.

The absence of the defensive duo opens the door for Adam Griffiths to make his return to Sydney FC's starting side.

If Adam plays alongside teammate Joel and against younger brother Ryan, it will be the first time three brothers have appeared in the same A-League match.

Sydney FC goalkeeper Ivan Necevski returns from an ankle injury to take Matthew Nash’s place on the bench while Terry Antonis, Peter Triantis, Nathan Sherlock, Paul Reid and Aaron Calver have been recalled to an extended squad of 18.

The match will be an intriguing battle between two of the competition's top strikers, Alessandro Del Piero and Emile Heskey, while the Sky Blues (20 points) can leapfrog fifth-placed Newcastle (22) with a win.
